Taner Osman holds a PhD in Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles. His research specializes in the geography of high-technology industries, as well as the relationship between the location of high-tech industries and outcomes for low-income workers, the relationship between restrictive land use practices and economic performance, and the evolving location of economic activity within metropolitan regional economies. He is a co-author of the book, “The Rise and Fall of Urban Economies,” a comparative study of the Bay Area and Los Angeles economies, published by the Stanford University Press.
